Shrimp Chowder - super simple and super delicious!

Shrimp Chowder

This shrimp chowder is very easy to make, yet its complex flavors will taste like you've been cooking all day.

It's gluten-free, grain-free, egg-free, and nut-free. Great for a variety of dietary preferences.

What makes a chowder and chowder?


  1. 2 tbsp butter
  2. 1/2 yellow onion
  3. 2 garlic cloves
  4. 1/2 cup white wine
  5. 1/2 cup clam juice
  6. 1 cup lemony chicken stock (see Subs & Adds below for alternative)
  7. 1 lb deveined, tail-off shrimp
  8. 1/2 cup heavy cream


  1. Melt 1 tbsp butter in a pot.
  2. Sautee 1/2 diced yellow onion in butter till translucent.
  3. Add 2 minced cloves and cook until fragrant.
  4. Remove pan from heat and add 1/2 cup white wine, 1/2 cup clam juice, and 1 cup of lemony chicken stock.
  5. Use immersion blender to blend until smooth.
  6. Return pan to heat and bring to a high simmer.
  7. Add 1 lb of deveined, tail-off shrimp, cut into bite size pieces.
  8. Cook until shrimp turns pink.
  9. Turn off heat and add 1/2 cup heavy stock.
  10. Serve garnished with sliced garlic chives.
